Fears announces new album Affinity

Avatar

A second album is released from Fears on March 22nd on TULLE.

London-based Dublin artist Constance Keane and founding member of feminist punk band M(h)aol announces a new Fears album affinity, the followup to 2021 debut album Oíche, is proceeded today by the single ‘4th of the 1st’, a undulating sparse electronic track with lyrics inspired by aa phone call she had on that day in 2022…

“It’s about checking in with yourself and reassuring yourself after an experience with someone who denies what you know to be true of your time together.I think it’s unfortunately a pretty common thing to have someone tell you how much they’re into you and then decide that they actually never said that when they’ve changed their mind. I’ve experienced it a few times anyway, so I wanted to write a song for myself to say “no you DID actually say that, I didn’t make it up”.

‘4th of the 1st’ video, directed and edited by Fears and filmed by Colleen Lee:

“The accompanying video highlights the trust and bond that can be found in sisterhood, it is a depiction of how women proactively signal to other women in solidarity, information that could be important for their safety.”

Written and recorded between London, New York,
and Dublin, affinity will be released on black vinyl and limited edition marbled pink vinyl. Preorders here.

Further cementing herself as one of Ireland’s greatest creatives right now, Fears is also a founding member of critically acclaimed feminist punk band M(h)aol and her fashion design has been featured in publications such as Vogue Italia, The Sunday Independent, Irish Country Magazine, STELLAR Magazine, and more.
