Hip-hop gold as Gaeilge from Belfast trio Kneecap

Luke Sharkey

Hailing from west Belfast, Kneecap are a satirical hip-hop trio who rap in Irish.

The three members; Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap and DJ Provaí have combined an in-depth knowledge of the Irish language with a killer flow and a wry sense of humour to produce one of the most unique domestic releases of the year.

Comprised of eight songs, 3CAG is a mixtape straight from the perspective of the urban Belfast youth with a few laughs thrown in for good measure. Those who may be skeptical at first will be quickly won over by the high production quality and lyrical skill on show throughout the release.
