Here’s a rundown of new releases on DSPs and physical releases in record shops this week.

Nialler9 keeps a rolling list of Irish album releases here.

New Albums

And So I Watch You From Afar – Megafauna

Belfast post-rock band’s seventh record.

A tribute to the two places the collective call home, their beloved Portrush on the Irish North Coast and the beating heart that is Belfast; The intent behind ‘Megafauna’ is clear from the outset. Two guitars, bass and drums all recorded in a week erupt into effervescent life in an endorphin rush of collaboration and togetherness after the physical and psychological wilderness of isolation

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard – FLIGHT b741

The 26th studio album by Australian psychedelic rock band is a return to their blues rock and boogie roots.

beabadoobee – This Is How Tomorrow Moves

Third studio album by the Filipino-English singer and songwriter beabadoobee (pronounced bee buh doo bee)

Osees – SORCS 80

Not to be out-done by the Gizzards, this is the29th studio album by the American garage rock band.

Sour Blood – SUAS

Tipperary-born theatre artist and musician Kevin Gleeson releases an “8-part symphonic swell of nocturnal balladry that drifts eloquently across glacial fronts of rich orchestration and introspective grandeur.” Suas was made with Brendan Jenkinson, and was written and recorded between Gothenburg and Dublin.

Tim Chadwick – Pulverise

Queer alt-pop singer-songwriter releases debut album.

The album was born from a very unadorned moment that Tim had while making breakfast one morning. One of the modes on an old blender was labeled “pulverise”. “It just looked and sounded so incredibly dramatic, over-the-top and so final”, Tim states. He goes on to say that “it’s kind of funny that we throw all these individually beautiful things inside this machine and then completely annihilate them in order to make something new. It’s an interesting concept, ‘destruction as a means to create and renew.’ Love can be very much like that at times”. So while the album deals with topics of love, longing and internal struggle – it in turns delves into the idea of what comes from all this destruction.

Calmea – Por enquanto não vou ao mar

The Irish-based Portugese singer Eunice Saraiva, who is also the singer with Off All Living Things, has released a debut solo record of ambient folk, recorded and produced by Ber Quinn.

lxvrboy – xo

Dublin-based electronic producer lxverboy’s debut album xo collects four years of music together informed from her time spent producing with the band LEWWAB

Fucked Up – Another Day

Seventh LP from the Toronto hardcore punks was recorded in 24 hours.
