Peach DJs on the tracks that capture the new Dublin club night’s vibe

Avatar

Peach at Hen’s Teeth this Friday night, June 14th is a pop up party for queer gals & pals by DJ Kate Brennan Harding.

Kate says:

Peach is a pop-up party for Lesbians, Queer Women & Non Binary folks who occupy the LGBTQ+ spectrum. Trans & Cis Men are more than welcome as pals of Peaches!

I love a good party and I particularly love when a gaggle of lesbians and queer folks combine, a certain delicious energy happens, hot sweaty, fun, playful and sexy.

I enjoy spaces that are filled with people feeling free to express themselves and often I find as a lesbian those spaces aren’t too often available. What do I mean by that? I think there is a different kind of space created when the identity is centred around queer women.

So Peach is my little passion project, a space to mingle and dance to good tunes together. It is accessible and inclusive.

Something that is also very important is being able to give back to an important cause, a percentage of the ticket sales goes directly to Palestine to provide food and supplies like women’s sanitary ware and baby formula.

We have 3 DJs picking tunes to keep the energy gorgeous, here are some of their selections…

Kate Brennan Harding

Kate Brennan Harding is a DJ and Broadcaster with RTE, she is known for bringing a fun and vibrant energy to any dance floor or festival space.

Katie’s three choices:

1.

ANOTR, Erik Bandt, Levan Keli

How You Feel

This is my latest sweet obsession, feel good, bring your body close to me vibes, smooth and flirty disco house.

2.

Romy

She’s On Mind

Now – how can this not be the best queer womans anthem in forever? Again it marries my love of smooth flirty feel good disco house. Cannot wait to play this on Friday.

3.

YAME

As I Ran

I began playing this around two years ago in festival spaces and no matter what time or where I play it, the beat seems to get inside peoples skin and everyone just vibes. I love to describe it as robot disco.

Minikimono

Sinead Bailey Kelly aka Minikimono, has spent over 14 years filling dance floors, clubs and venues across Ireland as a promotor and party planner. Spending this much time in the club scene has inspired her taste in music. Collecting house and disco music with big beats and uplifting messages, she curates music to bring love and joy to people. A tenacious optimist and artist at her very core using the medium of sound to make you feel good.

Minikimono’s two choices:

4.

Lexa Hill, The Young Punx

Kiss of Life (Extra-Extended Mix)

This is fresh take on Sade’s ‘Kiss Of Life’. Firstly I adore Sade. But this song in particular I discovered cycling on my way from home, something really nice had happened to me earlier that week and I was thinking “woah my angels really had my back there this week”. And I was feeling super grateful then this song came on and the first lyric was “there must have been an angel by my side” and it really made me feel like the higher powers were just looking after me and I had a little happy cry then all the way home so this song has a special place in my heart now.

Adelphi Music Factory, House Gospel Choir

Salvation

This song reminds me of my set from the Love Ball at Beyond The Pale Festival on The Big Romance stage last year. It was raining all weekend and I was opening for our Love Ball takeover and the minute I started playing the clouds parted and the sun came out. So it gives me goosebumps now every time I play it because it reminds me of bringing joy and love and sun to the people of Beyond The Pale and what a gorgeous crowd who came to share in the energy.

Greta

Greta is a seasoned DJ with a passion for old-school house and trance. As a previous resident DJ at Spinster, she loves captivating crowds with her infectious energy and eclectic mixes. Greta’s love for music has taken her to renowned events and venues such as Lumo, Centre Point, Electric Picnic, and Mother. Her sets are a nostalgic journey through the golden era of dance music, guaranteed to transport you to the heart of the dance floor.

Greta’s three choices:

6.

DJ Gigola

In The Mood

One of my favorite tunes at the moment. DJ Gigola is an absolute genius, an icon of a DJ / Producer. I heard this tune in one of her recent Boiler Room sets and was completely blown away by the energy / rhythm this song brings. Can’t wait to play this at 2am on a sweaty dance floor

7.

Marradonna

Out Of My Head

‘Out Of My Head’ is a 90s dance floor anthem that transports you back to the heart of the rave scene. The euphoric piano riffs and soulful vocals ignite a wave of nostalgia, while the infectious energy makes it impossible to resist hitting the dance floor. This track isn’t just a song, it’s a time machine to the golden age of DJing.

8.

Porn Kings

Up To No Good

This is an absolute gem of a song, 6 minutes of pure happiness. Every time I play this in the club I always get asked about this tune! People go absolutely nuts for it on the dance floor.

Peach’s second edition happens on Friday June 14th at Hen’s Teeth.
